VIIAD’s Health Ticket

The main communication vehicle in an insurance transaction is the insurance identification card.

Many parties (Provider, Patient and Payor) rely on the insurance identification card to communicate important insurance information.

However there are severe limitations to the traditional insurance identification card.

One limitation is the small size of the card, for such an important piece of the insurance transaction there is not much room for a Payor to communicate valuable information to the provider and the patient.

Second, the traditional identification card is static, the information printed on the card is only as good as the day it was printed. This is a problem very similar to the days when Payors or Managed Care Organizations printed Hard Copy Printed Provider Directories.

So the founders at VIIAD thought there had to be a better way to provide important and accurate insurance information, and they came up with the Health Ticket. The Health Ticket is similar to the eTickets in the airline industry. It is a virtual ID card that was designed to work with all existing legacy systems.

A Health Ticket is designed to be generated when a Patient needs to seek care from a Medical Provider. Either the patient, the Provider or the Payor can pull down a Health Ticket from the Internet, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Health Ticket provides so much more information and opportunities than what a traditional identification card can do.
